The United Kingdom has always been one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
The UK visit visa allows a person to travel and stay in the United Kingdom for up to six months, Visiting Family and friends; attending a wedding, sightseeing, business visits, attending conference, medical treatments; and even short term courses (upto 6 months), makes the standard visitor visa the most popular category for travellers.
Depending on your reason to travel to the UK as a visitor, you have certain eligibility criteria which needs to be met. The most basic eligibility criteria to be qualified to enter the United Kingdom on a visit visa, is that the person will leave the UK at the end of the visit and is able to sustain themselves without access to any public funds.

If you need to visit the UK regularly, you can apply for a long term visit visa that lasts 2, 5 or 10 years if you need to visit the UK regularly over a longer period.
You can stay for a maximum of 6 months on each visit. You may be able to stay for longer in certain circumstances; for example to get medical treatment.
